1450. Four Coulsdon men were pardoned for taking part in the Jake Cade uprising in Kent
1675. Five bells were installed in the village church St John's
They are still in use every week

1760. The first mention of a windmill on the Common
It was demolished in 1889, but  the Millers house still stands, and is occupied by the Kennels and cattery
1777. A second windmill was built on the Common
 It was demolished in 1924
1788. The Prince of Wales saw a bare-knuckle fight at the Red Lion Inn
1805. The Croydon, Merstham, and Godstone railway (Surrey Iron Railway) was built through Coulsdon
It had horse drawn wagons, and was the first public railway in the world
