The Great Storm 1987
On the night of 15/10/1987 South East England had the worst storm for 300 years
It started at approx 4.20AM, and lasted till 7AM

Winds were estimated at over 108 MPH, and the whole area was blacked out

This was the first time since WW2 that a total blackout had happened

Winds, and seas, were so fierce that a cross Channel ferry was blown up onto Folkstone beach

On the next three pages are some of the photographs that I took on the following day of the devastation caused in Happy Valley
